Hello Fellow Scouter,

If you are taking the time to read notes from the staff, then I can only assume that you are seriously considering signing up for our Spring Wood Badge course.  I wish I knew the right words to inspire you enough so that you will take the plunge.  Maybe I can use the words of others...

If you want to be the best leader that you can be, the leader your kids deserve, then you need to step up and get trained.  Lucky for you, Wood Badge is a wonderful road to go down.  On your journey you will have tons of fun, meet other like minded adults and be inspired all over again regarding your destination.

Find someone with beads around their neck and ask them about their Wood Badge experiences.  Ask about the people who have dedicated their own money, time, energy and heart to staffing this training.   Look at units which have a high percentage of Wood Badge trained adults.  All of these things speak to the worthiness of this course far better than words.

.I think all Scout volunteers must know the truth of this sentiment.  I know the staff of SR-1017 feels this way.  With the Scouting program all of us have a real chance to make a positive difference in the lives of others.  Knowing that we have indeed stepped up and made that difference is a reward that manifests itself deep in our hearts and radiates to every part of our lives.  Scouting gives back with shovels, what we are scooping out with spoons!
